Who are we?
Ramsey’s Campervans Ltd is a registered company listed in England. All payments are handled through our secure, online booking and payment system.
Relax! We’ve thought of it – so you don’t need to.
So you can have the best holiday experience possible, we only hire out modern, reliable and efficient VW campervans. Being based at the family garage business ensures each vehicle can be fully valeted before your arrival and is spotlessly clean, with an up to date
mechanical service, habitation check and safety test, ensuring that the campervan is in top condition and the gas and electricity supplies are safe.
Our campervans are all individually designed and professionally-converted, to suit a wide variety of customers, with comfortably-upholstered seats and the iconic Rock ‘n’ Roll bed. They are fully equipped with just about every item you need for a great holiday, so you don’t have to worry about packing the kitchen sink! If you need a few little extras they are available to book, just head to our Optional Extras page , where you can find details of extras like the Sheltapod awning, bike rack, European cover and extra drivers.
We’ve got you covered!
Insurance: Fully comprehensive insurance is included in the hire cost for the first driver (T&Cs apply) – some camper van hire companies require you to arrange your own, often expensive, insurance. Extra drivers can be added for a small extra fee. For added peace of mind, we also provide a Full UK and European breakdown cover.
Your Vehicle: You are welcome to leave your car with us for the duration of your holiday in our secure, free parking area.
Pick-Up: We can even offer a pick-up service from the local area or from Darlington railway station, which is on the east coast mainline.
How it works: When you arrive, we will go through using all the facilities in your campervan.
This usually takes about 45 minutes and covers everything from the elevating roof, making up the beds and using the kitchen – if you are unsure of anything, we are happy to help.

Location, location, location!

Our base in County Durham, just a mile off the A1(M), gives you great access to some of the UK’s most picturesque and beautiful scenery. From historic County Durham’s magnificent sights, it is only an hour or so to Northumberland’s beautiful coastline and castles. Another hour north will put you in Scotland. 75 minutes’ drive west will have you gazing in wonder at the magnificent sights of the Lake District. And the splendour of Yorkshire’s famous Dales and Moors lie an hour to the south. We aim to provide you with everything you’ll need to enjoy a very special adventure, whether that’s in this gorgeous part of Great Britain or even further afield!
Need something tailored to your circumstances?
We like to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your holiday requirements. Although we normally start hires on a Monday or Friday, it may be possible to start your hire on another day of the week, especially during the low and mid seasons; and the minimum hire duration is only 3 nights at any time of the year! This can be so helpful if you only have a few days’ holidays to take. We may be able to be flexible about collection and return times as well, depending on what bookings we have on either side of yours.
